Trying to avoid the crowds of Sapa, we went out to Mai Chau west of Hanoi on a recommendation from Jeremy and Agnes, a French couple we met in Sikkim. Like fools we forgot that Agnes was really fit and had found the Sikkim trek pretty easy, and we took the three day option with two nights in tribal houses.
